⚽ About This Blog
The Mark on the Ball
A real football fan. Real opinions. No corporate spin.
Who Is This?
The Mark on the Ball is a personal football blog run by a die-hard fan who grew up watching the beautiful game and never stopped. Not a journalist. Not a pundit. Just someone who watches every match, reads everything, argues with friends over tactics, and has opinions that won’t fit in a tweet.
This blog exists because football deserves to be talked about by the people who actually feel it — the fans who stay up until 2am for a Champions League tie, who go quiet after a last-minute defeat, and who celebrate a big win like it personally happened to them.
My Teams
There’s no pretending to be neutral here. These are the teams that matter:
Real Madrid because of the history, the drama, the Bernabéu. Manchester United because once you’re in, you’re in for life — the glory days made sure of that. Al Nassr and Portugal because of one man who refuses to stop being the best — Cristiano Ronaldo.
What You’ll Find Here
Honest match reactions. Hot takes on transfers. Deep dives into what makes great players great. Arguments for why your favourite team deserved better. Arguments for why they deserved exactly what they got. The kind of football writing that comes from actually caring — not from hitting a word count or chasing clicks.
No paywall. No newsletter pop-ups (well, maybe one day). Just football, from a fan’s perspective.
